Core Behaviors

Behaviorist: Under the supervision of our behaviorist, Collier Middle School uses a Positive Behavior Support model. PBS provides clear expectations for our students to experience social, emotional, and academic success. Behavioral supports focus on identifying target behaviors, conducting assessments, and teaching new ways for our students to meet their needs in a more appropriate way. Our staff is effective at motivating each individual and rewarding appropriate behaviors. While keeping in mind that each student has individual and unique needs, we have identified four core behaviors that are essential for the success of each student; Respect, Responsibility, Safety, and Kindness. Each day these Core Values are talked about, defined in everyday language, and celebrated. Collier school has a BCBA, BCaBA and several Registered Behavioral Technicians (RBTs).  These staff are in the classrooms observing students performing Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP) regularly.
