Maple Sugaring at Howell Living History Farm!

Maple Sugaring at Howell Living History Farm!
Students visited Howell Living History Farm to learn how maple syrup is made! They were given the experience of walking to the grove of sugar maple trees, drilling holes in a Sugar Maple tree, and adding a steel tap.

They were even able to taste the sap as it dripped out of the tap and see how the tap became syrup! It takes approximately 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of maple syrup! Can you believe that? Big thanks to Mr. S, for leading our students through new, exciting experiences!
